liebster award plus book rant at the bottom

So the lovely miss Olivia from over at Summer of 1999 tagged me for this award quite some time ago. (I don't know why it takes me so durn long to do these tags. Honestly.) so first, may it be said that her blog is absolutely AHMAZE and you should go follow it and devour all of her beautifully written posts. Thanks so much for the nomination, girl!

Okay. Here is where I answer the questions. (*everyone leaves* ahaha)

>> Who is your favorite teacher you've had so far and why?

Gahh I love this question. Because the answer is, without a doubt, hands down, my mom. Because I was a homeschooler right through to my last year of high school (which feels freakishly long ago btw. O_O) She was (and still is, because she teaches me sooo much all the time) the best teacher I could have asked for. And she put up with my tantrums when I didn't want to do math homework. #saint

>> What do you do to destress?
Run. Literally, running and working out is my go-to always. But especially running. I lovelovelove long distance running. Music goes on (loud), I tie up my sneaks, and I am in the ZONE, folks. It's medicine for the soul.

>> What is the first book you remember reading? or If you could choose one children's book to read to your child which would it be?
Hmm... probably the Boxcar Children. That was like my favorite, most memorable childhood book ever. My mom would read them to my sister and I every single night.

>> What is the last item you purchased?
Good question, haha... mascara from Sephora, maybe? I can't really remember.
>> When and how does your family first begin to celebrate Christmas (if you do)?
Right after thanksgiving.

>> If you could choose to have any color hair, what would it be?
I like my natural hair color... but I think if it had to be anything else either bleach-blonde or raven-black. Because EXTREMES. ;)

>> Favorite movie that has come out in the last year (or two, whatevs)?
JOY. The film though..gaaah. Go watch it if you haven't seen it.

>> Favorite book of the bible and short bit on why?
Oh MAN. This is the HARDEST question. The gospel of John. It's like the soundtrack of my life, my go-to, life-to-my-bones. 2nd Timothy, Psalms, the book of Job... so much full heart.

>> What time do you usually go to sleep and wake up (psh what even is a sleep schedule)?
Typically I tend to drift in and out of states of insomnia, because I've yet to find the off-switch for my brain, heh. So it runs all night and I lay there and think about EVERYTHING until it's way after mindnight. Sometimes it's like 3 am before I fall asleep. And I wake up too late. Thank God I'm a writer.

>> Which Disney princess do you want to be when you grow up (because we all know this is an important decision that we're going to have to make at some point in our lives)?
RAPUNZEL BECAUSE FRYING PANS.

>> Well, I thought that I only had to come up with ten questions and I was happy with that last question being my last one, but then I realized I had to do eleven. Soooo. Do you like to color with crayons, markers, or colored pencils?
Sharpies!

>> BONUS: why are all these questions so child-ish??????????? BECAUSE YOU ARE AWESOME.

okay, whew. Here is where a write eleven questions:

+ really toasted toast, or lightly toasted?
+ accent?
+ coffee or tea?

+ if you could live in another country for a year, which would you choose?
+ top three favorite songs on your most-listened-to playlist rn?
+ last blog you read?
+ cake or pie?

+ favorite bible verse?
+ color you find yourself wearing most?
+ funniest childhood memory?
+ which words do you like, literally abuse most in your vocabulary? ;)

I hereby nominate:
Katrina from Adventures and Such
Lydia from Planet Lydia
Susannah from Oh Susannah (< Go follow my beautiful cousin! She just got a blog!!)

My manuscript is in the hands of my editor (who lives in gorgeous Cali...makes me jealoussss haha) and I am really really really pumped to finally share more about what I've been doing with this project.

For now a few details:

• it's a sci-fi. The first-ever purely science fiction book I have ever written. And I am now officially in love with the genre.

• it's book one of what will most likely be a trilogy... unless it turns out to be four books. Which is actually possible with me because I am REEALLY long winded and I have a lot to say. So who knows.

...Yep. That's about all I've got for now. I'm basically just putting on my snorkel gear over here and getting ready to dive headlong into the editing process. Send coffee.

In other, other news-- GO CHECK OUT MY SISTER'S NEW MUSIC VIDEO! I literally cannot get over the talent that she is. It's like ibasdiupg crazy.

And I am also kind of proud of myself for being able to successfully insert a few gifs into this post. I don't think I quite have the hang of it, but oh well. It's like winged eyeliner; YOU JUST WANNA PROVE THAT YOU CAN (at least that if my relationship with winged eyeliner. and gifs.)

HOW WAS YOUR WEEKEND? What did you do, what kind of desserts did you eat? Are you a sci-fi reader or nah?

  1. Eeeeeh this was so great. :-D

My weekend was pretty fab. We're watching LOTR with my youngest brother because he just finished the books. :-D So that's basically what we did along with watching the Hockey All-Stars. And eat and live and breathe and stuff. Desserts.... Molasses cookies. My mom is the best and she made me some because mine failed.

I am not a sci-fi reader. *gasp of shock* For the most part. HOWEVER there are some that I really enjoyed. Like C.S. Lewis's sci fi trilogy which if you haven't read GO READ IT RIGHT NOW. So that said, I want to read your book really bad. :-D

MOLASSES COOKIES. O_O ok now I want some ahaha. Are they kinda like gingerbread? AND MOMS ARE LITERALLY AHHH <3 THE BEST. My mom makes me goodies like that because I cannot cook or bake to save my life.

I NEEEEED TOOOO! I love CS Lewis so stinkin much. And I have heard LOADS of good things about that trilogy. So that, also will have to go on my to-do list. That and eventually LOTR.

    1. DUDE THANK YOU!!! *HUGS* I don't have a publisher yet, or an agent...but we're getting there, so that is worth some cream soda and cake right there. The publishing industry is such an intimidating machine. 0_0 I am so thankful that I have an editor who can guide me through it, haha. THANK YOU BUNCHES AND HEAPS GIRL!

RIIIGHHHT?! I can't believe she edited it all herself. Like. I can't. I have no patience for stuff like that I don't know how she not only manages it but owns it.

GAAAH I FEEL THE SOLIDARITY. SLEEP DOESN'T SEEM TO LIKE WRITERS FOR SOME REASON. XD (...or maybe we just consume too much caffeine..? idek)
