california days

I've had the west coast/California on my mind lately. I'm not sure if its an itchy-foot thing, or if winter and how she tends to make her stays long induces it. Or maybe its just because gosh is it wildly beautiful out there.

Steep cliffs, big pounding, pumping waves, bike rides among redwoods, long drives along the beach, gray whales, wild elk, endless, whole days of living like unabashed explorers. The taste of salt across your skin and sunlight fingers in your hair.

This is the west coast.

Who else has cabin fever/itchy feet/is getting restless?

  1. it looks so gorgeous there...wow. </3 Here in Canada the snow isn't even pretty anymore...it's frozen into icy mounds tinged with brown road salt. It's slippery, rock hard, and gross. I would like some sunshine and warmth, please. :p

  2. Beautiful photos. I loved the one with the elk. Also - I know exactly what you mean about itchy feet. Some days I just have to spend an hour planning my imagined trip to Mongolia or Istanbul to sate myself. Since I booked my flight to the UK, it has been hard to think of anything but travel.

  7. So pretty! Since I have rarely experienced life outside of my depressing, gray Indiana homeland, I almost don't know what I'm missing. But my heart longs for the rest of the world. I have itchy feet, and I can't wait to travel everywhere. (California is definitely on my list!)

    1. I know exactly how you feel... I road trip a lot, but sometimes I feel like I haven't seen anything and I get so restless. Someday though, we're gonna see it all. The joy is in this beautiful journey. <3
