a picture of a waffle and an Einstein quote

You know what's hard? When you know what you need to be doing-- pretty much exactly. And you're not doing that good, beautiful, awesome thing because you have all this other stuff that your schedule as slugged you in the gut with, barricading your way.

Learning how to breathe in an airtight safe. This whole thing feels like a Houdini act, and I'm just trying to get out.

But I remind myself that there's goodness. There is always that-- always. You just have to look for it, in the disarray. Just like Einstein taught us.

“Out of clutter, find simplicity. From discord, find harmony. In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.”

ps. please tell me-- how do you deal with stuff like this?

  1. I wish I had a solid answer for you but I don't. I find that breathing helps, just going for a 5 minute walk away from my work and just breathing really helps distract me from the stress I'm facing. Baby steps are crucial too. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Goodness is always there, you just have to work hard to find it and hold onto it x

    1. breathing sounds like a very relaxing remedy. And it definitely is a long series of baby steps. But yes, goodness makes it worth it, for sure. <3 thank you

  2. girl I feel you. And idk how to deal with it, I'm not handling it very well so far. :p it sounds bizarre but cleaning really helps me. Not like a half-hearted vaccuum of the living room, either, I usually sprint up the stairs for the vaccuum and clatter back down and clean the floor like my life depends on it, just working hard and fast to get up a sweat and kill some energy. That usually takes the edge off...the tightness in my chest goes away after I get going, and feeling like I'm accomplishing things keeps me calm, even if it's just because I've made my bed.

if you make any brilliant discoveries, please let me know! I can only clean so much in a small house. :p

    1. I've found the same thing, Olivia! Cleaning, running, working out, any kind of physical labor seems to really help tone done the stress. Chocolate is always a help too, that would be my advice. (; Thanks, girl

  3. I know just how you feel. With my part-time job and full-time college, I have very little time to do what I feel God made me to do - write. It feels like I'm wasting my time, because my writing is calling me, and I have a story I really feel God wants me to tell the world. But He has me here for a reason, and I know He does you too. Maybe He is still preparing you to do that great and awesome thing that He made you for. So just look around - how can you bloom right where you are? How can you further His kingdom right here, until He takes you somewhere else? There's a mission field right here around you. :)
