a dash to the orchard

autumns are a blur of color here, and a wild mash of people from everywhere who come to bathe their eyes in the hues and their bodies in the fragrance. The colors are always beautiful, of course they are-- because they are trees. And of course trees are beautiful, how could they not be? All those branches, freckled with fresh life, reaching upwards towards the sun by day and to the constellations by night. But this year, may I just say that, oh goodness-- exquisite.

Remember I said before that we were "dashing out to the orchard to get apples"? Well the above was basic documentation. Except for the photographs of the goats which dwell there, one of which I gave the remainder of my apple, and then hoped to God that goats don't die from eating apple seeds or something like that, because I will be forever guilty and distraught. Those are soon to come.

(...I know, that was random, wasn't it?)

So some of the photos are the orchard, where there is also a vineyard and a winery, which is spacious, new and interesting inside, with a very vintage vibe and absolutely dreadful lighting for photos. Other photos like the maples and the Ferris wheel are from Pennsylvania where I worked recently, and the mountain and the sunset and the flaming redhead of a tree are my backyard.

So there's a little taste of fall here in New England.

Tell me about your autumn, and if you have a post bursting with photographs, my goodness, link me up!
