please tell me about how you write when you feel like you cant

There are so many things I need to write about, that I haven't written about. Things that I think about so much and yet they don't leave my head.

I went on a cross country trip in May-June. I could write about that.

I guess it's just that there's so much going on, as I said in the post before this...relaxing and letting words out has become a less frequent occurrence. So to all the writers-- how do you make time for writing when you're busy? Or how do you get yourself to relax enough to enjoy writing even when you're under pressure to get other things done? Somebody help me, haha. I need y'all.

As for news items, today I ate a chocolate cookie that tasted like bliss, I finished the Hole in Our Gospel and I got the string on my guitar replaced. I also started sponsoring four wonderful little loves, one who lives in Uganda, the other three in Hyderabad, India.

I feel like life is so exciting. Like something really big and beautiful is going to happen. And that is a really beautiful feeling. Staying stoked.

free hugs,
Kate

  2. Thanks for the free hug, I appreciate it. :D

Lately I've been writing more than I usually do; I've been feeling like I had too. As though, just as I need to eat to keep my body happy, I have to write to keep meh mind happy. Does that make sense? So what I mean is that I haven't really been making time, I've just been doing it 'cause I had to. (Though, honestly, I don't always write when I feel 'have' to, nor do I always eat when I 'should'. Ha.) Anyways, not sure where this is going but I hope you find time to write soon, I love reading your writings on here. - I'm a new reader, by the way. :)

haha you know when there's no real cure for something, but just relating with someone else helps more than anything?
Knowing the exact feeling you speak of is strangely uplifting. Thank you.

Because I'm such a lazy writer . . with me this just looks like sticky notes with small phrases all over the place; when I have no time I have no completion- but it's been amazing because always in the time that stretches from when an idea is first born to when it does eventually get finished, typed, edited- it grows up.
I'm not really patient when I want to write something out; but the busyness of everything else so often gives my impressions the steeping time I didn't know they needed, so that when I go back to try to wind them together, I get to think something about them I never thought before, and realize how many things are bigger than I first see them to be.

    1. YES. Just...yes. Totally. And the sticky notes are a brilliant idea, I need to do that more with story ideas because I already seem to do it with everything else, haha. Tidbits of ideas here and there. But the steeping time thing...I soooo know what you mean there

  5. Hey. I have felt that way for a long long time and don't have much advice for you. I've been keeping it all inside and somehow when I sit down and try and write it just doesn't want to find its new home on my paper very gracefully. I've always felt like I need to write it down but I don't know how anymore maybe. Maybe I should just try tho. lol. I think my mind is a strict ruler at times and I think for some reason that if I can't write it down perfectly than Im not doing it right. Is that justifiable? Im not sure. (blush)
