i don't understand

Do songs really always have to have a meaning?

Or can they just be some kind of an unspoken expression of something bigger that our hearts understand long before our heads ever will--

Can they just be what they are without us having to always figure them out?

Because with music, with trees and stars and people and kisses-- I don't really want to intellectually understand them. I just sort of want to obliviously, childishly drown in the bliss of enjoying them in a way that far surpasses all comprehension.

I don't ever want to have everything figured out. I want to be forever curious and excited and surprised by everything.

I like that I don't understand.

Because that's where faith comes in.

And nothing that is real can be understood without faith.

    this is perfect. just perfect.

i do envy those who can translate what a song is telling their hearts into words, though. you know what i mean? like there's always this song and you're not sure what it's talking about but you know you love it and it speaks to you, then someone comes along and explains it like it's the easiest thing in the world. and then your mind is just kinda left a little numb and stuff cos you can finally know what it means. my brother does that to me, the way he can just say things so easily and understand them so well is scary.

anyway. i really love this post! ^_^

    1. Thank you so much, Noni. ^_^

Yes, I know exactly what you mean-- it *is* really cool when that happens! Or like, in real life when you're someplace or with someone and it just matches a song so perfectly, and you're just like "ahhhhh... this is amazinggg!" Hehe. :)
