what is boston?

Boston is bean town.
Boston is bunches of people from everywhere you can think up stacked a hundred stories high.
Boston is accents and languages all over the place.
It's the music that drifts through the window at night.
Boston is the crazy drivers- the car horns, the slam-on-the-breaks, the getting lost.
Boston is the food; the spice, sweetness, salty kiss.
It's the Bull Market.
Boston is the repetitive drum beat from the street musician; the clarinet player at dusk, and the guy dancing at the harbors edge with his fingers tap dancing on guitar strings.
It's staying up late.
It's sneaking out to Seven Eleven for tea.
It's watching a water show with Daddy.
Boston is lit-up Carousals.
And cobble stone.
And the sounds the boats make when they leave the harbor.
It's walking around Boston Common in the pouring rain.
Boston is construction sites; cranes and asphalt and hardhat zones.
Ballet posters and the art museum all day; statues and paintings and old coins and taking pictures.
Boston is Momma telling stories and laughing and showing us beautiful things.
It's staying up late with your sister and talking about the novel you're writing together until you both fall asleep.
It's laying on the feathery, squishy hotel bed and reading 1 Samuel, listening to the drum beat wafting up from the streets.

In other words...Boston is fun.

Peace out,
Sailor
